Who are we? መን ኢና፧

Selam, I go by the name Yemane Samek, the dead letter.

I am the founder and the chief scribe of Bete Semati, the Audience Chamber. I am an independent epigraphist, specializing in Abyssiniology. I created the Auditorium with various goals in mind, mainly to produce a proper and extensive look at the history of Eritrea & Ethiopia, and their ancient history with Yemen and Southern Arabia. My main focus is on the aforementioned countries during the 1st millennium BCE, as well as the late 2nd millennium BCE. In this time the nations were represented by the Kingdom of D'MT (Eritrea & Tigray), and the various Southern Arabian Kingdoms, mainly highlighted on this page by the Kingdom of Saba in the early days, and the Kingdom of Himyar in the later days. I specialize in epigraphy, and I make my own translations, leading up to my comparisons of old Ge'ez (******), and modern day Tigrinya. My work is sourced in stone.

What do we do? እንታይ ንገብር፧

Diagnosis of Ge'ez

The Language before Tigrinya

One of our goals is to have a full and proper breakdown of the Ge'ez language, letter by letter. With an accurate depiction of the language, which is believed by the Auditorium to by a hybrid language between  majority South Semitic & Central Cushitic. Through our efforts, we aim to make a 4 way comparative dictionary between Ge'ez, Tigrinya, Tigre, & Amharic.

Reconstruction of the ****** Language

The Language before Ge'ez

Through the efforts of The Auditorium, we have successfully determined, and coined the name of the language, we believe Ge'ez descends from. For copyright reasons, the name has been censored. Samek, of the house, is accredited with the coinage of the name of the language (and all related works), which is presently unknown to linguists and historians. The coinage was made by Samek during his recording of a translation. Samek then made the comparison, and produced a quick proposal with evidence backing his claims. The House ultimately endorsed the theory, as they saw that the argument was convincing for various reasons;

  1. Epigraphic proof of use of the word as far back as 2700 years ago. Including translation & pictures (Kingdom of D'MT)

  2. Letter by letter examination of evolution of the name of the language. (The comparison was approved The Auditorium)

  3. Epigraphic proof of use of the evolved form of the word 1500 years ago (with pictures), in the same grammar situation, the original word was used.

  4. Modern day use of the word in Tigrinya, Tigre, & Amharic is consistent with the evolution and definition of the original word.

  5. Ethio-Semitic grammar breakdown of traditional use of the term.

  6. The proposal fills the gap question of the ancestry of Ge'ez, which until more recent times in the 21st century, was incorrectly believed by modern academia to be Sabaic.

The ********* theory has since been fully endorsed by The Auditorium, and has now become a target for The House to make the theory widely accepted amongst modern academia.

This subject is being worked on constantly, we hope to release Samek's proposal on our page soon.

Preservation, Revival, & Exportation of Fidel & Musnad

Last members of its family

The Fidel and Musnad scripts are of great value and importance to The Auditorium, and we aim to forever preserve the writing symbols. Our goal is to produce first hand sources (maps, diagrams, etc...) with both scripts, as a form of exportation and preservation.
